1. Why is it so important to have a professional web site for my business?
Mainly, a professional web site is the single most cost-effective way to get your company seen by your
targeted audience since your web site makes your business accessible to anyone, anywhere at anytime. An
effective web presence means that your business has the potential to sell your products or services 24/7/365. Visitors can
look you up at their own leisure, with no obligation and no sales pressure.
A professional web site increases your business' credibility. Your web site will
have a powerful impact on a prospective customer's confidence in you. Taking the time to develop a professional
quality site that provides well-written, informative content, helpful product information and good contact info
will create an overall image your customers can trust in.
A web site makes it easier for people to refer you to new clients. Referrals are often a very
important way of getting new business. And since web addresses are easier to remember than phone numbers,
clients can easily refer you to friends or business contacts. Or you can simply add a Refer A Friend page to your site
to make it even easier to get referrals.
Also, having your web address, or URL, printed on everything that has your company name on it,
(i.e. business cards, letterhead, brochures, forms, pens, anything), is a great way of attracting new prospective
clients to your web site without having to visit your store.
2. Why do I need the services of a professional web designer?
While it may seem to be relatively easy to create web pages, it's not so easy to do it
well or to know how to get the best results with it. A competent, professional web designer does more than
just build pages. This person knows how to make your site work effectively on the web and
get positive results for your business and also, has the proper tools, and expertise with these tools,
to do it right.
A professional designer knows how and what must be done to get your site listed in a good
position with the search engines, can troubleshoot any script or coding problems, can design
your site to load quickly, be user-friendly, attract a targeted audience and knows how to
create the site so that it's compatible with virtually all browsers and platforms.
And, a pro can make the whole process come together for you: the overall page design,
art/photos, coding/scripting, speed, navigation, content, troubleshooting, search engine
optimization, submissions and presentation. This web site will represent your company's image and it
should be done by someone whose job it is to do exactly that. This is simply not the time to skimp or cut corners.

3. How do I know when I've found the right designer?
There are many people claiming to be designers at many different rates and it may take a bit of investigation on
your part to find the right designer for you.
One thing to look for is a professional
portfolio. Do you like it? Do you like the style of the designer? Do the sites appear to be attractive,
user-friendly, easy to navigate, professional?
Since the relationship between designer and client is mostly via email or telephone,
you want someone who will be able to answer any questions you have, to your satisfaction, about any topic you are
unfamiliar with and someone who will respond as soon as possible every time. Having a designer who doesn't ask questions or doesn't
keep in close contact can lead to many problems. Your designer should insist on
communicating with you on a regular basis.
Overall, remember, you are paying someone to create your company's image and
identity. A professional designer has experience and education behind
them and they are charging for their expertise and knowledge. This is simply not the time to skimp or cut corners. In most cases, you get
what you pay for, so be picky, ask questions, view their portfolio and find one you absolutely
feel good about!
4. Do I need to hire a "local" web site designer?
We create web sites for clients who are local as well as out of state or out of the United States/Canada.
By using the Internet, email and telephone, it is possible to communicate effectively with clients in any
location worldwide and having a designer local to you is simply not as important as it used to be.
5. How much will it cost?
Naturally, prospective customers want to know the cost, but there is simply not one easy answer to this
question. It would be impossible to give an estimate without knowing the details for
your new web site. Price depends on many factors, such as the type of web site it is (brochure, ecommerce, database,
etc.), how many pages need to be created, whether or not the content (text, photos and art) will be provided or
will need to be created. Plus, Flash and added features will effect the cost as well. But we do have a set of
pricing guidelines that will give you a very rough idea of what your cost will be.
At T&I Grafix, we make it simple for you to get your business online quickly and at an affordable
price. The best way to get a firm and fair quote is to fill out our Estimate Form
as completely as possible. We'll have a price and timeline to you within 24 hours, usually much sooner.

with our clients, meeting our deadlines and putting our best effort into the design of each and
every project. We go that extra mile to deliver the best quality product on time and within your

Overall, our customers are satisfied.
7. If I decide to let T&I Grafix do my web design, what will I need to do to
make the process quick and easy?
The main thing to remember is that this is your company and you know it better than anyone! We want to help you create a
successful site that will get great results online. So, having a rough idea of what you want, and all of your content
together is important.
It's always a good idea to search the web online for different sites that you like and then let us know
what those sites are. They don't even need to be in the same line of business. But let us know if you like it for the
overall design, or the color scheme, or the background, or maybe there is a feature you like, whatever. You can list as
many sites as you want for our reference.
Also, note that we will have first layouts back to you within 1 week of your deposit. Usually, layouts
are complete and approved within the first 2 weeks. After layouts are complete, we will need to know exactly what
pages you want on your site and what information you want to put on each page! Having the content for your site
ready to go is going to make our job much easier and you will have your site online just that much sooner.
If you wish to supply your own art or photos, please have those in either a .gif or .jpg format at 72
dpi, RGB color. If you don't have them formatted, we can usually do it for you for a minimal fee.
If you don't have photos, but would like to add photos, we use a stock photo service and would be happy
to add as many photos to your site for a minimal fee.
8. How can you guarantee that I will be satisfied with my job?
At T&I Grafix, we want you to be 100% completely satisfied with your job! After all, it's our business to
create a web site or logo that will meet or exceed your expectations. So we don't put a limit on the number of layout
revisions.* Which means that you must be 100% completely satisfied with the layouts before we
proceed to the next step of the job.
The layouts for ANY job are the single most important part of any design project. And, if the
layouts aren't right, the finished art won't be either. In addition, our payment schedule
is set up so that you will not pay until you are satisfied (with the exception of the deposit to cover
our initial costs), thereby guaranteeing your satisfaction.
9. What is "Site Maintenance"?
Site maintenance is a service that I can provide you with for a monthly fee to keep your site
updated with new content that you provide, plus any copy changes or page additions. Most good web sites have
new content updated regularly as fresh content is one thing that will keep your visitors coming back.
10. How should payments be made?
For the majority of our projects,
payments are made in installments. The first 1/3 of the mutually agreed upon price is paid upfront before
any job can be started. The second 1/3 is due only after you have approved the layouts and are 100%
completely satisfied. The balance, plus any accrued fees, is due only after you have approved the
finished work and are 100% completely satisfied. For web site design, payment must be made in full before
the new site will be uploaded to your server.
Preferably, payments can be made by PayPal by clicking on the PayPal button at the bottom of our
Home page, or by company check or money order through regular mail, but jobs will not be started
until the deposit is made.
11. Once I have my web site designed and uploaded to my server, am I done?
No! After your site is finally online, this is the time to actively and aggressively promote your site and not only by submitting it to search engines. If
you do nothing with your site, no one will ever see it, no matter how wonderful it is. The number one mistake
that new web site owners make is in thinking that visitors will find their site overnight by doing nothing.
Search engine submissions are important, and we would be happy to help you properly submit your site to the search
engines, but they can take weeks or even months, to list your site.
In the meantime, there are plenty of ways that YOU can market your site yourself. Some ways include
making sure that your web address is on all of your current marketing pieces, such as your business cards, brochures,
flyers, newsletters, forms, everywhere. Adding a signature file to every email you send out that includes your
URL. Including your URL in your phone mail message. Making sure that all of your current clients know your web site
address. You can send them an email or postcard announcing your site. Be creative and think of new ways to get your URL
noticed and get people to your site!
12. OK, I'm interested in getting an estimate from you. Now what do I do?
If you have decided you want a quote for your web site, logo, print design or illustration
from T&I Grafix, simply fill out our free, no obligation Estimate Form to
start the process! It shouldn't take more than a few minutes and we will have an estimate for price and timeline back to
you within 24 hours, usually much sooner. That's it!
Click back to the top
13. Can you "guarantee" top placement in the search engines?
Guaranteeing a top ranking in the search engines is impossible. There are over 25 billion web sites on the Internet and
tens of
thousands more submitted every day. T&I Grafix can properly optimize your site for the search engines for keywords
that you believe your target audience will use to find you, but no one can "guarantee" a top position (no matter what
they tell you!).
More questions and answers will be added. If you have any questions regarding our services, please feel
free to email me at teri@tigrafix.com.
